About the merger.
We're excited about the benefits our merger with West Michigan Credit Union has brought to our members, team members and the communities we serve:

- New Checking Account option with fraud protection and credit monitoring services
- Comprehensive mortgage services with a local expert
- 30,000 free Co-op Network ATMs, and more.
The credit union's membership overwhelmingly approved the merger. It was a strategic partnership between two similar size, financially healthy Grand Rapids based credit unions. By combining the best parts of both organizations, both memberships are now benefiting.
Bloom Credit Union's previous CEO, Joe Heintskill, is CEO of the new organization. William Keim, who was the CEO of West Michigan Credit Union, is the President. Both organizations kept our individual names and both are now Divisions of WMCU. Best of all, you continue to see the same familiar faces at your favorite branch.
Both credit unions have deep roots in West Michigan, providing affordable and convenient financial services to members for over 70 years. Now that we are together, we have 11 branches in total, with several in Greater Grand Rapids, and branches in Coopersville, Georgetown, Big Rapids, Reed City, Cadillac, and Manistee. With a broader branch network and our combined resources, we’re investing in new technologies and enhanced services to better meet the evolving financial needs of our members and branch communities.
