Planting trees
Planting trees with each new account opened! So far we've planted 15,632 trees!
At Bloom Credit Union, we’ve always focused on doing what’s best for people in our communities, and helping them thrive financially. So, it made sense to help our environment thrive too. As part of our exciting partnership with the Arbor Day Foundation, for every new Bloom Credit Union account opened since January 2024, we've been planting a tree in a forest of great need in Michigan.
If you think about it, trees are kind of amazing. They are important to our environment and they enrich our lives in so many ways. They not only help reduce the effects of climate change by capturing excess carbon, but they also:
- Provide habitat for wildlife
- Support our health and well-being
- Clean our air and water-helping us breathe easier
- Beautify and cool our communities
- Help nurture biodiversity and endangered species thrive
- Provide a buffer against extreme weather
- Reduce the effects of deforestation

Our Team Members recently helped Friends of Grand Rapids Parks plant street trees at their ArborFest and Neighborwoods events. We also helped the Land Conservancy of West Michigan plant trees at The Highlands. Super fun events! Want to help the Bloom Team plant trees?
